About Impulse Parrots
Hi, my name is Amy and I run Impulse Parrots. Great to meet you! I have been keeping and breeding an assortment of birds since a very young age. I think my first love of birds came about from when I use to visit my grandfather when I was little. His next door neighbour was a large Budgie breeder and I use to spend hours over in his breeding complex learning everything I could!
I started Impulse Parrots when I finally purchased my own home in 2009 and bought my first pair of breeding Cockatiels, completely on impulse. The number of birds I owned quickly increased with the addition of a few more pairs of Cockatiels, a breeding pair of Greencheeks and a breeding pair of Quaker Parrots and the bird bug was officially caught! As I had purchased all of these birds completely on a "I want a bird" impulse, the breeder name of Impulse Parrots was born.

Unfortunately since that time I had to sell the majority of my breeding pairs and aviaries in 2016 and am currently in the process of rebuilding my collection. But never fear! I still hand raise a wide selection of birds including Galahs, Sun Conures, Short Billed & Long Billed Corellas, Alexandrines, Quakers and more.
Situated in Kingaroy, Queensland, I have a number of aviaries and my collection of birds has started to grow again. I feed my birds on a diet of quality seed, sprouted seed, dried fruit & nut, pellets and fresh fruit. I love my birds and enjoy the fact that I have wild parrots including Red Rumps, Galahs, Sulfar Creasted Cockatoos and King Parrots visiting the yard which is fantastic due to the fact I live in town and they are rarely seen.

When I hand raise any parrot, I ensure as much time is spend with them as possible. They are also very use to being handled by my young daughter and are exposed to all types of house hold noise so that when they go to their forever home, the transition will be smoother.
As I do live in town, I am unable to have all the birds I would like to due to the noise a large number would make but I also have a number of friends living in a rural setting that I am able to source young birds from.
